It needs to be light­weight and have as sporty a look as possible: what sounds like wishful thinking is at last becoming the standard for modern trekking footwear. An athletic profile, lateral embossing with colourful stitching and a completely new design make the RANDIR GTX MID the fore­runner of a whole new generation of light­weight, resoleable hiking boots. The upper is made of full-grain leather and fabric. Thanks to its breath­ability, the integrated GORE-TEX membrane keeps feet dry, taking care of a pleasant foot climate. Extended two-zone lacing with locking hooks combined with the X-LACING system ensure that comfort is never compromised. While the chunky LOWA® DYNAPU®+ midsole provides optimal cush­ioning and harmonious rolling prop­erties, the VIBRAM CORNERSTONE outsole, with its pronounced heel edge and well-defined tread pattern, guar­antees excellent grip on any terrain. • GORE-TEX® – Guar­anteed weather protection, even in pouring rain and heavy snow: The RANDIR GTX MID Ws is equipped with a GORE-TEX membrane. The innovative tech­nology delivers optimal waterproof protection and breath­ability.
• 2-Zone-Lacing – Thanks to the two-zone lacing system used in the RANDIR GTX MID Ws, the forefoot and upper have their own separately adjustable lacing zones. As a result, the shoe can be indi­vidually adapted to the anatomy of the foot and laced in different ways for ascents and descents.
• Minimal Seams - Stitches and material overlaps are elim­inated in the RANDIR GTX MID Ws thanks to the use of large pieces in forming the upper. This reduces the possibility of pressure points, a feature that enhances comfort.
• LOWA FlexFit: Feet can roll more effectively if the upper of a hiking boot can be easily bent. Such a feature saves energy when the wearer climbs hills and it provides real comfort in the process. For this reason, LOWA has integrated a flexible zone and a lace loop into this area for the RANDIR GTX MID Ws. This involves repos­i­tioning the boot’s eyelets and using a flexible lace hook that improves heel comfort and facil­itates bending.
• Dyna PU - LOWA DynaPU®+ is used in the RANDIR GTX MID Ws. This is a specially developed foam padding used in the midsole of footwear. It plays a key role in the rolling prop­erties and the cush­ioning of the footwear. The new LOWA DynaPU®+ offers even better recovery behaviour thanks to its special cell structure. This, in turn, creates an improved rebound effect for athletes. Even with constant use, the recovery behaviour does not lose any of its high performance qualities.
• WOMEN LAST – To ensure perfect fit, the lasts used for RANDIR GTX MID Ws have been specially designed with the anatomy of women’s feet in mind. The last plays a key role in the ultimate fit of a boot. Women’s feet have less volume than men’s feet. As a result, the instep height and the ball area of these lasts have been altered.
• The VIBRAM CORNERSTONE Ws sole has a modern profiled sole design with distinctive edges on the lugs, which provide the necessary traction in the forefoot area and grip in the heel area in varying terrain. These good prop­erties are rein­forced by the very pronounced heel edge, which increases the braking effect, espe­cially downhill.
