Let’s face it: Classic winter shoes are too often clod­hoppers and their design is pretty ho-hum. The CALCETA EVO GTX Ws has gone in the opposite direction, adding an array of fash­ionable details that enhance the entire shoe. The robust full-grain leather has been updated with numerous decorative stitches and embossed design elements made of Tweed or canvas. The result is a colourful lifestyle look that adds variety to the grey, mono­tonous days of winter. But this winter boot that extends all the way to the wearer’s calf is much more than a design knockout. The trendy leisure-time shoe also provides the ultimate in comfort. How? The answer is quite simple: with the shoe’s waterproof, breathable and wool-blend GORE-TEX-Partelana lining, its softly cushioned collar and an open-hook type of lacing system that creates a custom fit. But these are only a few of the features that ensure comfort for the wearer’s feet. Others include lasts designed with the female foot in mind, the shoe’s SUPPORT FRAME and its directly injected midsole. • GORE-TEX® – Guar­anteed weather protection, even in pouring rain and heavy snow: The CALCETA EVO GTX Ws is equipped with a GORE-TEX membrane. The innovative tech­nology delivers optimal waterproof protection and breath­ability.
• DOUBLE INJECTION - To provide effective cush­ioning and improved comfort, the sole of the CALCETA EVO GTX Ws is bonded to the upper in a tech­nically demanding injection process. The upper boot is placed into a specially designed mould. Various layers of PU foam padding are then poured into it. In the process, the sole and upper are bonded together.
• SUPPORT FRAME - With the LOWA MONOWRAP® frame, the midsole of the CALCETA EVO GTX Ws provides the very best comfort. This three-dimen­sional midsole design was developed by LOWA in 1995. The frame comfortably cradles the foot and support it when the shoe wearer ventures across uneven surfaces. The sole design is slightly raised for shoes with a SUPPORT FRAME.
• Dyna PU - The midsole is the leading contributor to the foot­wear’s rolling prop­erties and cush­ioning. In the CALCETA EVO GTX Ws, this midsole is made of a specially developed plastic: LOWA DynaPU®. The special feature: It retains its restoring force even when it’s pressed together thousands of times. As a result, the finished boots will maintain their excep­tional cush­ioning prop­erties even after you have walked many kilo­metres in them.
• Woman last – To ensure perfect fit, the lasts used for CALCETA EVO GTX Ws have been specially designed with the anatomy of women’s feet in mind. The last plays a key role in the ultimate fit of a boot. Women’s feet have less volume than men’s feet. As a result, the instep height and the ball area of these lasts have been altered.
• Cold, icy or snow-covered surfaces: no problem at all for the LOWA® AL-S V. Good grip is guar­anteed thanks to the multi­direc­tional edge alignment of the profiles and the shoe’s specially developed winter rubber compound.
